DW Senior Partner Recognised Nationally by Peers
Sandy Donaldson Voted Among Australia’s Best Ag’ Lawyers
Though far too modest to ever say so himself, Sandy Donaldson is no stranger to third-party accolades.
In his remarkable 40-plus-year career, the DW founding Partner has regularly heard his name called out at awards nights. But when recognition comes from his peers, as was the case recently, it’s particularly satisfying.
Our co-founding Partner was recently named in the prestigious 2011 Best Lawyers Australia guide in the practice area of Agriculture & Rural Affairs.
All inclusions in Best Lawyers are peer-nominated and elected, making it one of the most prized and respected individual accolades within the Australian legal services industry.
“It’s a great honour,” Sandy said. “I’m most appreciative and quietly thrilled by it.”
Further vindication for SAFF endorsement
The news adds to a string of recent notable achievements for our firm and staff, providing further vindication for the South Australian Farming Federation’s (SAFF) decision in late 2008 to appoint DW as provider of legal services to the organisation and as recommended provider of legal services to its members.
The DW Franchising Team won the Franchising Council of Australia’s Franchising Supplier of the Year award in both 2009 and 2010, along with Corporate INTL magazine’s 2010 Franchising Law Firm of the Year in Australia.
Christian Munt, Head of our Commercial Disputes & Insolvency team, was individually recognised in the 2010 edition of Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession as one of the nation’s Top 20 Rising Stars in both Commercial Litigation and Insolvency & Reconstruction.
And Sandy was also recognised in the 2010 Doyle’s Guide as “the patriarch of South Australia’s IP [Intellectual Property] market”.
Not surprisingly, we’re determined to maintain our momentum.
“The recognition is certainly pleasing,” Managing Partner John Walsh said. “But what we’re really excited about is that it indicates our efforts over many years to make a difference for the people we work with, such as SA farmers and winemakers in Sandy’s case, are bringing those people real results.
“That’s the role we’re most interested in continuing.”
